i have xp. i only had two accounts on my laptop:
administrator and guest. i set them up when i first
booted the OS. i had all my music in "administrator's
music" and all my pictures in "administrator's pictures"
and so on. i had all kinds of files saved to my desktop,
as i'm always in the middle of projects.

today my mom got on my computer to add herself an account
in order set up remote access from her own computer so
she could drop files onto my harddrive from there. i
don't know how far she got in the set up, but she did
tell me she would finish tomorrow. also i know she made
her account a computer administrator.

well, our power went out, so i shut down my computer to
save the battery power for when i really needed it. i
then restarted my computer so i could listen to music.
when i got to the welcome screen, the only two accounts
available for login were my mom's and the guest's. the
administrator login was nowhere to be found, and i cannot
access the "administrator" folder under "c:\documents and
settings." the error message is "access is denied." how
can i possibly get into that folder? and since the login
is gone, have my files on that desktop also been deleted?

Emily;
The Administrator account is hidden once another account is created.
You can still access Administrator by booting to Safe Mode.
Reboot tapping F8 each second, choose Safe Mode at the menu, select
Administrator.

Create a new account then copy the data to the new account:
