Hello, we seem to have a growing number of Computers
running Windows XP Home developing a particular startup
error.
The error we are getting on startup is "Windows could not
start because the following file is missing or corrupt.
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
The system will not accept a repair using the Windows XP
Disc and will not allow access to the Windows Directory.
In the past the only way we have been able to fix this is
to reformat and reload.. there must be an alternative
and a cause for this situation...this is happening on
several different computers running standard software and
is happening for no apparent reason.
Can you help please...
