Apologies for the cross posting but I'm in a mess and need help! I've just
done a repair install of XP (long story as to why but briefly was installing
N System works and accidentally clicked to install "go back". It wouldn't
let me cancel so it installed then I just got a blank screen so reinstalled
WIn XP and then uninstalled go back). Of course on the reinstall of XP my
dial up connections are no longer there and when I go to try to put them
back in, only the box enabling internet connection by broadband is
available. (I don't have broadband). Modem etc is working fine and there
seems nothing in device manager to suggest any problem. so I triedinstalling
from an old free disk and of course it installed the by now out of date
browser :-(
but when it came to installing the dial up connection it wouldn't go past
the fact that I already had IE loaded.. Help - Sending this from aneighbours
pc so can't impose on her - and her phone bill for long!

If you had Service Pack 1 installed before, reinstalling it will bring
up the options again in the setup connections wizard.

You could also look at article 329441 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;rid;kbinfo
