Computer turning on when phone ring

We have had an on going problem since we have been on the
internet, of the computer turning on when the phone rings
we have a seperate fax machine but the in computer fax
isn't installed so that can't be causing it. any
sugestions on what the problem is?

Check your BIOS (when your computer is turned on, it usually says something
like "Press DEL for system setup" or "Press F2 for system setup" or
something, do that... Look for a setting somewhere that actually says what
to do on Modem connect/Ring. It's a POSSIBILITY...
