i have a 2 yr old grandson that has 'messed up' my
computer somehow. i went to use the restore cd and for
some reason, the computer acts like it wont read the cd.
how can i 'start all over'

Look in the documentation that came with your computer to find out how to
enter the BIOS and change the CD drive to being the initial boot device.
Boot from your recovery disc.
If that doesn't work then you would need call your vendor/system
manufacturer as MS provide no support for OEM installations.
