Excel and Word

After upgrading from Windows 98 to XP Home it now takes
30 to 40 seconds to open Word and Excel when I do my
initial launch of these 2 programs. It comes back
saying..."Installing Microsoft Excel Feature"
or "Preparing to install Word". What do I need to do to
have these 2 programs launch quickly. (FYI; I have an HP
Pavilion notebook N5470 with a Pentium 3)

Hi,

Do a repair install of your MSOffice product, they need to be reconfigured
under the new system.
