Can you even boot to XP? If so, delete everything in
your device manager, and restart. If you can't boot to
XP, you may have gotten the "blue screen of death" and
may need to reformat your drive and then do a clean
install. This advice comes from a similar past
experience while installing a new hard drive then when I
tried to add more memory. In both cases, deleting all
items in the device manager solved the problem. In my
case, XP was having trouble detecting and accepting
previously installed items in my device manager and
needed to "re-detect" all the hardware that was installed.
I hope this helped, and if others believe this is the
wrong approach, I gladly accept constructive criticism.
