Just bought a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200. My previous was a GeForce 2 TI.
At boot up the window's sound is choppy while windows is loading. This
problem I never had with the previous Vid card. My sound card is a
Creative SoundBlaster Live 5.1.
Other info:
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1800+1.54GHz
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
768 DDR

Go to the Creative Web Page.
http://www.creative.com/
Wend your way through their Menu's, starting at SUPPORT at the top of the page and select
the AUTO update and allow it to find what drivers are needed.

Umm, did you upgrade DirectX to 9.0a? I think that card was designed for that DX.
Run the DX sound diagnostics from "dxdiag" at START/RUN, to see if any conflicts
Whose MoBo is it? If VIA, grab their latest drivers as well.

Check to see if the video card and sound card are now sharing the same
IRQ. I changed vid cards myself this Friday, and noted that the new
one
started off using a different IRQ. I stopped that, got into BIOS,
selected
the IRQ to use. XP sees it, all is happy.

Do you reccommend the Creative drivers over the ones on the Nvidia site? (or
are they the same?)

I would certainly take the CREATIVE drivers from their web site and use the auto-update, so
it sniffs and finds what you need
