Next to the type-in boxes, there is a down arrow. If you click it, it
shows what you've typed in before. Normally, this is saved from
session to session. For example, if you type in "regedit" in the run
box, in the future you will find it there waiting for you if you click
the arrow. But what controls this? What if these things are not
saved from session to session, and every time you boot up you find
nothing but a blank list? I did something along the way to screw this
up, and now I don't know how to fix it. Anyone know?

Please Help!

You might want to check to see that in the Tools\IE Options\ Advanced
tab you don't have the option to empty temporary internet files when
you exit the browser, and you do have "use inline autocomplete". Also,
in the Content tab, Autocomplete area, you need to check the boxes for
web forms or whatever you want auto-completed.

It seems as though the posters on this subject in the various IE and
XP groups are almost equally divided between those who want their
autocomplete function to work, and those who are trying to stop it.
Clearly this is a work in progress.
