Need to remove corrupt program from computer - Can't be uninstalled

Hi,

A program on my computer has become corrupt, and as a result will not
function and also cannot be uninstalled (the uninstaller component is
missing). I have tried overinstalling the program but that does not help
either. Does anyone know if there is a way I can completely remove the
program (and this program only) from my computer?

Real Player One.

I tried to use some sort of thirdparty addon, however now when I click on
the program, nothing will happen.

however now when I click on the player nothing will happen.

Try reinstalling the same program on top of itself, then see if the
"Uninstall" option is available.

My views on RP cannot be typed, due to the explosive nature of my keyboard.
I would delete all the realplayer folders, get jv16 powertools from
www.jv16.org and remove all traces of it. Then get hypnotised so that you
hate it as much as you should.

I did the same thing yesterday with a realplayer 6 version that came
with my computer. Used realalt, and it stopped functioning with an
error message about pngu32-something.dll. Couldn't be deleted via
add\remove. I tried installing two different 6 and 7 versions because
I couldn't find the exact one I had, ended up with messages that a
required plug would be available online and then, online, that the
plug was no longer available but I could download their neato current
version.

Happy ending: A restore point brought me back to where I started
(before trying realalt). Kind of surprising, because I thought the
original version must be long gone.

And, yes, I know about realplayer's reputation, but my son has sent me
disks of several seasons of TV shows I can't receive, avi files
downloaded online and of varying quality. Sometimes realplayer handles
them best, or at all. This early version seems less invasive.

I use RP8 and have never had a problem.
The trick is in setting it up, turn off ALL options they want you to have.
That means everything that is checked, uncheck it.

This time if you decide to reinstall it, uncheck all items in every dialog
box.
I use RP8 and have not had any problems.

But that tricks you into thinking that Realplayer stuff is worthwhile and
useable. It is an awful piece of rubbish IMNSHO.
