View Full Version : problem running applications as "User" account

Windows XP Pro, all accounts who are only members
of "Users" cannot access many applications. Specifically
nothing that accesses the DVD player (Windows media
player, CyberLink Power DVD for two). The application
comes up, but then I get the "The application needs to
close..." window.

One account in the Admin group works fine. Adding "Power
Users" to an account did not help.

I do not want to grant very many privileges to these
accounts, but they should be able to play DVDs...

Thoughts?

What DVD player are you using? You may want to try using a different MPEG2
decoder, if yours is acting up.
