View Full Version : Nero 5.5

Hi,
I have just installed Nero 5.5 onto my computer. When first opening up the
program, I was not given the "Start Multisession disk" or "Continue
Multisession disk" options. If I use the Wizard option, the "Continue with
an existing data-CD(multi-session) option is greyed out. It does state:The
option to continue an existing CD is disabled, because you have selected the
image recorder. Select your real recorder by using the menu command 'CD
Recorder > 'Choose Recorder' to enable this feature. However, now in this
section, there is only an option titled 'Image Recorder' and no where for me
to unselect this or choose another option.
How can I get around this problem.
Thanks
Greg Matthews

Greg,
Why don't you go to Ahead's Website and DL/install the latest version first.
They are up to 5.5.10.15 now. This may solve your problem before spending
time on troubleshooting.
If it doesn't, then I suggest reposting a message as to problem, what steps
you took, and what the results were so someone can pickup from there.

Hi,
I took your advice and downloaded the latest available update for Nero, this
being 5.5.10.20. Installed ok, however, if I now try to select my CD-RW
from the available list, there is a cross over the Device I want to use,
ATAPI CD-RW, which doesn't let me choose this option. If I try, then check
OK, I get the message:Sorry this Nero version only support Plextor recorders
only. How can I progress from here?
Thanks

You are using or upgrading from a version of Nero that came bundled with a
Plextor drive. You will have to "purchase" an upgrade from Nero that is
coded for all drives they support. I think it's $19.95 if I remember
correctly

If your Nero came packaged with a CD-RW drive and you have since changed the
brand of drive you are using it will not allow you to upgrade. These
versions of Nero are tied to the specific make drive with which they were
purchased :-)

Just come from friends house who had exactly the same problem and like
others have suggested it was because it was not being used with the drive it
came bundled with. You can get round it but the wife warned me not to tell
you how.

I presume this will work with any drive?

Hi Cliff,
It's worked with every CDRW drive I've used. It's the version that comes
bundled with certain drives that is limited to only that hardware. The
generic version available at www.ahead.de will work with any CDRW drive.

Hi Cliff,
It's worked with every CDRW drive I've used. It's the version that comes

generic version available at www.ahead.de will work with any CDRW drive.
