After following the directions to locate my Windows XP
Product ID I get the message "Page cannot be displayed",
Check your network connection.

What's up with that?

And the directions to get your product key were. . .?

If you were using a small utility program, try the following site and from
the list on the left side of the screen select "Uncover Windows XP Product
Key"

Greetings --

To see your Product ID, all you need do is right-click My Computer
and select Properties. There are no "pages" or network connections
involved in the process.
