What is the deal here? I installed this and have had
nothing but problems. I am running XP Pro and have two
messenger services trying to sign in at the same time.
Causing each other to sign the other out of service.

Windows messenger 4.7 and MSN messenger6 are separate programs, only one
can be signed on if they have the same passport account.
I suggest you read messages on the subject in this NG.

Which would you like to use, Windows messenger 4.7 or MSN Messenger 6? If
you want just Windows Messenger, uninstall MSN messenger 6. If you want 6,
then you need to tell 4.7 to not sign in automatically, (Tools, Options,
General, "Automatically run Messenger when I log on to windows") and also to
instruct Outlook Express to not load it (Tools, Options, "Automatically Log
on to Windows Messenger."). This *should* mean that only the one program
loads at start-up.

Hope this helps,

Alex
