I have messenger 4.7(2009) latest relealse as of 8-04-
03. I have Win xp, service pack 1, plus some security
updates since jan(service pack 2 Updates).
Every time I start win. mess., a animation window
pops up in system tray by clock to tell me to go to e-
mail and verify my ".net passport" e-mail address. It
never sends me the e-mail. further, when messenger is
open, (from messenger toolbar) "file", "verify email
address", doesn't send me the confirmatin like it
should.
And, also on messenger
toolbar, "tools", "options","personal" shows e-mail
address dimmed, and e-mail address not verified. In
the .net passport preferences I have chosen to share e-
mail addres with web sites . Is there a certian amount
of days this takes to get verified? Aol instant
messeger sent me a confirmation within minutes. I don't
know of any issue with having these two on computer.
I don't open them at same time and they both came
preloaded. You have to have windows messenger if you
have XP, and aol came on my computer already installed
with it's instant messenger.

Greetings Thomas,

The verification e-mail can sometimes take up to 24-48 hours to arrive, however it does
usually arrive without minutes. The 'option' in MSN Messenger 6 to verify e-mail address
does *not* resend your verification e-mail -- in order to get it resent, you need to request
another one from Passport Services:
