I've read the responses on how to stop the pop ups from
messenger service. My question is can you stop the pop
ups but still use windows messenger?

Hi Kathy,

The Messenger Service pop-ups, and the disabling of that service has *nothing* to do with
Windows Messenger, MSN Messenger, Windows Update, or *any* other part of Windows -- it is
completely separate.
