In windows add and remove programs, i removed accessories
and utilities by mistake.Am able to recover
Paint,Calc,etc in entertainment, but cannot get volume
icon in the task bar.message says reload windows xp cd.
only cd i`ve got restores pc to factory settings,don`t
want to do. surely something easier?

Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices. Put a check mark in the obvious box!
