FAT 32 To NTSF

I'm trying to convert Fat 32 to NTSF. I'm having an
issue figuring out the steps to go about it. Any ideas?

Although Fat 32 can be changed to NTSF within the operating system , I would
wait to your next format. There can be a issue of too large cluster size
which will make your computer slower than it was to begin with. This doesn't
happen when NTSF is chosen after a clean install. Jym

Make sure you have a good back up. You might take a performance hit by doing
a conversion as opposed to a clean install. But this might help...

If you did a clean installation of Windows XP initially (on a FAT32
partition), you can probably safely convert to NTFS within the operating
system. I just did this, and it's worked out fine. The odds of it slowing
your system are minimal. Open the Run box, then type:

convert C: /fs:ntfs

Make sure you've backed up your data first. If you need to later go
back to FAT32, you'll need to delete the partition and recreate a primary
DOS partition. To easily delete an NTFS partition, you'll need a copy of
delpart.exe -- a Google search will find it. To recreate your FAT32
partition, use fdisk from your Windows 98 boot diskette. Once the
partition's made, reinstall XP.
Again, the above command line conversion will probably work fine for
you, but don't take chances, and back up your data first!
