hi,

messeger gets disconnected but doesn't tell me and doesn't display the
disconnected status in the contact list (ie still displays the contact
names),

yet when i double-click on someone to chat it opens the chat box as
usual, but the text area is grey and says i'm no connected.

whats the problem and how can it be fixed ?

i really don't want to upgrade to 5 or 6

thanks for any info
HT

thanks for the info,

i dont have a router, but it might be the bandwidth, eventhough i can
upload at 40kb/sec i might've set the ftp too high.

its strange that messenger think it needs to go offline without
actually going through the normal log off procedure and stranger for
thinking it needs to log off eventhouhg my net conenction is
permanent.

neways, i'll look into that, maybe version 6 has better luck.

thanks.

Hi HT,

Let us know of the results -- unfortunately there isn't much of a 'fix' for this, because
there are so many factors involved.
