no user names present...HELP!

I booted up my computer and now I can't logon because the
user names are gone. How can I get in there? I've
restarted from the CD and the names are still gone. Any
help would be appreciated!!

try pressing f8 when booting up and select safe mode, is possible then you may be able to get in to control panel/ user acounts/ the select change the way users log on and select welcome screen and all being well you can loggon the way you did before, but
can you reply as to if you boot normal do you get a log on screen saying enter user name and password???
