Just how hard is it to display on a help site
1 That it might be good to retain Windows Messenger if
you install MSN messenger
2 Compatability issues ( and theres plenty : read the
various internet forums Re no sound , no cam
conection , cant log on.. what gives?
3 Why dont you tell us what your plan phase is in
development of your potentially wonderful product
After all i dont mind being a "guinae pig" if i can see
the light. Identify you problem issues and let us know
your working on them !
Oh and dont forget the the millions and millions of
potential users just might not have a university
degree in firewall jargen. So install the tools to make
it simple to install !
Soory i think i meant to say Just make it user friendly
to install and operate accross the whole network.
Other wise i'll up my breeding program on courier
pidgeons - could be a niche market developing.!
Hey but could you get MNS messenger working because
i do want to know when my courier pidgeon arrivesat its
destiny. Thye have a non working MNS mesenger too..!

Greetings Guy,
1. Well you can't really uninstall it unless you know the command.
2. If you look at other forums (say for Yahoo Messenger), you'll see the same thing -- ditto
with any "internet" application. Messenger's reliance on SSL (which is what Internet
Explorer uses to access 'secure' sites) to login, does cause a few problems however.
3. I think the courier pigeon niche market is largely exaggerated =).

Jonathan Kay,
I do agree that there is issues with anything that connects to the Internet
and if you want to connect to another user with a floating IP then it's
harder and of course if you would like security it becomes a real pain.
That being said if I go to the Yahoo site or another IM I only have to deal
with one general release version... disregarding the need to upgrade for new
features. Not two similar programs that only sort of talk to each other and
have different features, as far as I know none of the other IMs are trying
to compete with themselves. Does MS not have enough competition in this
market?
A clear statement of intent and direction from MS on the strangeness they
have created would be nice. I really for one don't need two things that do
that same thing with the same service and require I log off one and onto the
other just to talk to different people.
Regards,
John

I fully agree with you John J.
It clearly shows how less MS cares about users, they just do what pleases
them.

Hi John,
To be honest, I don't really have a detailed "business plan" for where the two Messenger
clients are now going, so I honestly can't give you that information. All I can tell you is
that MSN Messenger is focused on MSN-based technologies (like Hotmail, MSN Mobile, etc.)
whereas Windows Messenger is focused on Windows/Office-based technologies such as Exchange IM
Server, Office Live Communications Server, Windows Netmeeting, etc. Of course, both can make
use of .NET branded technologies like the .NET Messenger network, .NET Passport and .NET
Alerts.
