Appear Offline but noooooooo

Hi All,
For some reason when I set my status to "Appear Offline" and go about my
merry way surfing the web, and later I look down at my sys tray something
causes my status to change to "Online" all by itself! This is very
annoying. Does this happen to anyone else? And it's happening more and
more.

Well I have mine set to Online. That way no-one knows when I'm at the
puter or not :o)

This is related to you internet connection, if it drops, messenger gets
disconnected and after connecting again, it shows your status as online
unless you change it again. Are you using cable net? You can make use of
third-party patches, if you need to permanently set your status to offline
at log on. (not recommended, you may rather like to block all of your
contacts and unblock them whenever you are available and they are online).
