Greetings Jonathan,
Install SP1 and remove messenger from the windows components list. It will
do the job for you.

Greetings Jonathan,
Assuming her account is set to 'Limited User', download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/disablewindowsmessenger_user.reg
This will prevent Windows Messenger from being executed in any way (removing it just from the
components list will not actually disable the program, it's still there).
Note: this does not effect MSN Messenger 6, so if your daughter has an Administrative account
in Windows XP, she could still install MSN Messenger 6 to get around this (there is a
solution for that as well if you're using Windows XP Professional, I won't bother posting it
at this point, because I don't think it probably applies to your situation).
