View Full Version : WindowsXP unable to recognize digital camera on USB

For over a year I have been able to transfer images from my Fuji Digital
Camera to my OS. Suddenly this is no longer possible.
The OS recognizes the up-dated driver but does not talk to the camera. The
temporary drive fails to install itself.
I have spent hours re-installing FinePix Viewer, USB WindowsXP drivers.
I had no problem when I installed the program on an identical Computer and
OS.
Any thoughts from you experts are appreciated. Happy New Year!

G'Day Nurmi,
First question, did this start after you updated the camera driver software
from the Fuji site or someplace else ?.
I also have a Fuji camera and the FinepixViewer program on my pc. I don't
use the F/pix though.
I went looking for my particular camera model to update it on Fuji site, and
I couldn't find the exact numbers to match from the choices available, and
anyway the original works fine..
I presume that you found the correct version for yours ?
If not, and I presume that you have the original CD that came with the
camera, uninstall the up graded version and re load the one from the CD.
The new Hardware Wizard should find the camera, with the USB cable plugged
into the camera and the camera turned on,and load it into the pc, via Plug &
Play hopefully.
Rob.
