I need help desperately, I am having hard disk with 7 partitions
C.D.E.F.G.H,I), I am having windows 98 on C:\ and windows xp on F:\,
a week ago I formatted F,G,H,I to NTFS instead of fat 32 so windows 98
wasn't able to see them but everything went ok, I mean that whenever I start
my computer I see the two systems and I choose weather xp or 98, but today I
started my computer It told me that there is a file missing named hall.dll
in system 32 of win98, I restarted with my win98 start up disk and then
restarted again and I found windows 98 only and it didn't give me windows xp
choice menu, and now when I log to windows 987 I can't of course see the
windows xp or even the f drive because fat32 can't see ntfs drives.
any help will be appreciated please???????????????????

Hi,

This should help:

"Hardware Configuration Problem" Err Msg Starting Windows [Q314477]
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314477

Basically, you want to run the Recovery Console by booting the WinXP CD and
run bootcfg /rebuild from the command prompt.

Fady, this is an easy one. Win98 can not see a NTFS system, which is based
on NT technology. That's one of the disadvantages to NTFS for me. NTFS is
incompatible with Windows 98. Just off the top of my head, NT, 2000 and XP
are the OS's that can see it.
