I've got a crap-load of names in there I'd love to get rid of. Can this be
done? What I'm talking about is in the Tools > Options > Privacy and on the
left side there's a ton of names listed. I hate that, please let me know if
there's a way to clear this other than making a new account.

Thanks,
-Justoman

Greetings Justin,

You can right-click on these contacts and choose Delete in the Privacy tab. However, the
Delete option will only be available if they've removed you off their main contact list,
otherwise the option will be grayed out and you won't be able to remove them (without getting
a new account).

Changes like that need to be made to the program. Really, what kind of a
messenger program is it if you can't rename contacts and erase people from
your end of the client?

Hi,

Well, you can't Delete people who have added you in the Privacy list because this is your
sole way of deciding whether or not a person can communicate with you. If someone still has
you on their contact list, and you were given the ability to completely remove them, would
they still be allowed to communicate with you? If they weren't, what if you wanted to
communicate with them again?

The way Messenger is designed (in this regard) makes sense to me.
