I used WinBlinds before but it really slows down my computer performace. So
I stopped using it.

Yeah, it is a shame for Windows XP really. Because in Mac OS X, you can
change the "skin" without any additional programs.

I thought Windows XP is a response from MS on Mac OS X but now I know its
not as customizeable as Mac OS X.

Yes I know there is "Advanced" Dialog, but it doesn't have any effect on the
appearance when you have chosen "Windows XP Style" in Display Properties.
Only if you've chosen "Windows Classic Style", you can customize the
appearance of the windows in details.

So have you used WB lately? WB4 is due out in 2 days, I am using the =
beta build 3.98 right now with no problems speed or performance wise.

Not really, a professional should be able to figure out no matter what's the
UI a system has. What you're saying is a problem that will be found in
beginner users.

Besides, if a support professional don't famailar with the UI that user has
on his or her system, that support professional should simply siwtch to the
UI that he or she familier with.

Sorry but the reason that you gave to me about there are less number of UIs
in Windows is simply untrue.

But certainly Windows is NOT Rock Solid Stable and I used it just because
its ease-of-use and customizablity. If it is weaken in customizability or
ease-of-use area, then there is nothing good left in Windows OS.

If I want a Rock Solid stable OS, I will use Linux or Apple, which is based
on UNIX.
