this is the latest posting that may be helpful. This is from my pc's
registry
================================================== ===========
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar]
"{62999427-33FC-4baf-9C9C-BCE6BD127F08}"="DAP Bar"
"{B195B3B3-8A05-11D3-97A4-0004ACA6948E}"="Hotbar"
"{014DA6C9-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10}"=""
"{8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467}"=hex:00
"{774E69B6-C981-11D6-B1B1-0050DAB9F678}"=hex:00
================================================== =========
this registry below is from kelly's website.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar]
"{8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467}"=hex:00

I can see that both are not the same.
let me know what I should do next. I have already saved that TOOLBAR
registry settings from Kelly's as. reg in My documents. Let me know if I am
ready to put it into registry. I already saved my original setting with
different filename in My documents for possible backup.

Doug Knox MS-MVP

Alan,

Yes, you can Export the existing branch as a backup. Kelly's REG file will
delete it as part of the fix. Alternatively, of the 5 entries in the
right pane, you can just delete each entry, individually, until you find the
one that makes an undesired toolbar go away.

"{8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467}"=hex:00

is for the standard IE toolbars. If you only want that one, use Kelly's
REG file to do the job for you.
