"fdc.sys is corrupted"

Hello,

I'm running XP HE and I just bought XP Pro to upgrade.
When the computer restarts to begin setup, it reaches a
problem and says "fdc.sys is corrupt" and setup fails.
I've learned that fdc.sys is the floppy disk controller
driver and is located in c:\windows\system32\drivers.
Any help as to correct this problem so I can upgrade to
XP Pro?

Bring the CD back to the store for a replacement! It's defective.

So this is a problem with the XP Pro CD and not my XP
Home system?????

Try to boot from the CD and install, instead of installing from Windows.. It
just may work from there
