XP upgrade = loss of administrator password

I recently upgraded from 2k to XP. During the process, my
admin password was seemingly changed automatically, as my
old password no longer works.

I noticed that the name of another user account on this
machine was changed from "lisa" to "old_lisa". Is there a
process during the XP upgrade that could have
automatically adjusted my admin password? If not, any
ideas on regaining admin access?
