Underscore on Menu Commands

I have Windows XP Home. The underscore on the menus does
not appear until I press the ALT key. How do I turn
on/off the visibility of the underscore.

Right click your display and select properties.
Go to the Appearance tab. Hit the Effects button. Last option listed.
