View Full Version : AUTOCOMPLETE NON-FUNCTION

January 5th 04, 10:09 PM
RUNNING WINDOWS XPpro;

Autocomplete function is not working despite every aspect
of being checked and re-checked. Boxes all checked under
Tools, Internet Options, Content, Autocomplete.

Every possible idea has been tried, but nothing "engages"
the typical "double-click" to enter previously typed info
into boxes, (email logins, ebay member name, google
search box, etc.)

No information stays in the boxes...

Please....help....!!

Double click?

If you are running an HP:

When logging in as Owner, AutoComplete does not work when filling out a
form, it does work; however, in the address bar, and also in Outlook
Express.

HP support stated that the Owner/Administrator login doesn't save passwords,
etc. This is for security reasons. They advice to set up another account,
assign it as limited, and log in on that account.

If not:

AutoComplete Mode Enabled or Disabled (Line 37)

Close IE. Then go to Start/Run and type in: services.msc
Scroll down to Protected Storage. Note the Status column. If Protected
Storage is running, Started will appear under Status.

If Protected Storage is not started, start it. To do this, right-click
Protected Storage, and then click Start. If Protected Storage is started,
stop and then restart it.
