What antivirus program would be the best to run on my home computer?

I was using Norton Anti-Virus but it kept locking up my email and doing
various other weird things.

AVG is widely recommended and is free for personal use:

Questions like this get opinions, not answers. And because there
are so many people here, you get a lot of different opinions,
which don't help you much.

Here's my opinion: I run Norton Anti-Virus 2003 here, and it work
fine. I'm very happy with it. If it does "weird things" on your
computer, almost certainly you are doing something wrong.

Give Avast 4 a try. It is free for personal use. It wins awards frequenty
for its abilities and it is OK on system resources. I find it to be lighter
on system resources than Norton AV.
