You will no doubt realise after reading this that this is
a very major problem. Any assistance or advice anyone can
offer will be greatly appreciated.
(I was initially logged on as Administrator)
My Windows XP laptop first failed to go into hibernation
mode when I shut the lid. Had this nearly a year and its
never done this before.
I then shut it down. As it closed I noticed that the look
and feel had reverted to the standard Windows XP. (I had
changed everything over to the 'classic' UI)
I then restarted the laptop. When it came back, the
Adminstrator user had disappeared, even though I can
still reach C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\
If I look in Control Panel->User Accounts, Administrator
is no longer there. But if I try to create a user with
this name I get an error message saying I cant since
there is an existing user with this name.
What can I do to restore the Administrator?
