The norton anti-virus systray icon suggests that it has
not loaded correctly (It has a '!' on it). Has anyone else
encountered this before?

Is there something I need to fix from the OS side for
this?

Ashwin,

What version are you running. Older versions do not necessarily support
WinXP. I believe that you need the 2001 version as a minimum, but check this
out on www.symantec.com.

If you do have a newer version (I've successfully used the 2002 and 2003
versions on my machines), try the T/S techniques on the Symantec Website.
Failing that, Remove and Reinstall the application . . . perhaps a file
became corrupted and is causing the problem you are seeing.
