View Full Version : file access problem

I had a computer breakdown resulting in my having to get
a new system. I installed Windows XP and applications to
the new hard drive then I put in the old hard drive
thinking that I could copy my data and files from "My
Documents" folder over to the new hard drive. When I try
to access the old "Profile" folder in the Documents and
Settings directory on the old drive I get a denied access
message. Is there a way around this?
Thank you.

Hi Rene,
Yes, please take the owner ship of the folder first. Then try to copy the
content here.
I you have set the EFS on the folder, I feel sorry to say that we cna't
access the folder if you have not backup the certificate.
Thanks for using Microsoft News Group!
