Can any one tell me of a way to secure my home/family computer as my brother
are breaking into it and changing their acc. type from Limited to Admin. I
have changed my user password several times. Logged on in safe mode and have
given the Administrator Account a password, but it still does not seem to
help.

At a cmd prompt enter=20
net localgroup administrators

This lists all admin accounts on the machine, and one of=20
these must be used to change a limited account to admin.=20
You already have secured the safe mode admininstrator=20
account, so prehaps there is a different one you are not=20
aware exists.

There are a few other ways this can be done. Most have=20
had security bulletin patches released to plug them. Some=20
are simply not preventable if the person has physical=20
access to the machine. So, start with the obvious by=20
inventorying the admin accounts and making sure the=20
machine is up-to-date on security releases, and take it=20
from there.

I have noticed a second Adminstrator account that has my dell service tag
appended to it. i have not checked if this is a result of some thing i did
or not such as removing my laptops Harddrive and reinstalling it. I found
these accounts listed in the Documents and Settings folder. So i guess it
would be safe to delete one ?

That account may be one pre-installed by Dell.
You should be able to disable it, within its properties=20
when in the interface from=20
control userpasswords2=20
