I am suspicious that my roomate is accessing my system
without my knowledge or permission.

I play Flight Simulator Pro and had the game on last
night. When I awoke this morning, the game was not there
anymore. The only way to shut the game down is
manually. I checked "my computer" using the "history"
folder and saw that "my computer" was accessed at
5:47a.m. I was asleep at the time.

I use cable connection and leave the modem on constantly;
however I do not stay connected to the internet
throughout the night time.

Is it possible for someone to access my computer even
though I am not connected to the internet?

This is totally weird and I am very suspicious that my
roomate accessed my computer. He woke up at 4:30a.m.
this morning. According to the history folder, "my
computer" was accessed at 5:47a.m. this morning.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

You could try http://www.sfxtech.com for Folder LockIt.
