I've had the same problem after installing the 811493
security patch as well. I removed it with system restore
and all went back to normal. I have a post at security-
general security discussion. I see that there are other
people with the same problems after installing this
patch. Is there an updated patch coming, or a work around
for this security flaw that won't cause these performance
slow downs? I'm using Windows XP Home, 1.6 ghz pent 4,
512 DDR, with 60gb & 120gb harddrives, fully updated(with
the exception of this one), no viruses or spyware.

Yes I'm in exactly the same position re every update but this one. As are
many others it seems.

Perhaps a MS employee would care to comment on this?
