Windows XP backward compatibility

Can I still use my Microsoft Office 97 Standard Edition in
a PC that has Windows XP. Also do I need XP Professional
or can it work in XP Home Ed. ; I like to be able to use
all the Office 97 programs, i.e. Word, XL, Powerpoint.
