If I switch from Windows Me to Windows XP Home, will my
Microsoft Office applications still work, or will I need
to upgrade those also?

All Microsoft Office applications, starting with Office 95, will
work under Windows XP.

Hi,

Even with the upgrade advisor, nothing is guaranteed. It only picks up known
problems that existed at the time of release two years ago (and
incidentally, this same tool is on the WinXP CD if you can borrow a friend's
copy).

There is no way of checking compatibility for ALL software without
researching each program with the program vendor. Some may require nothing,
some may require a patch or upgrade (not always free either).

currently running with Win98? The WinXP homepage said there are 2 options:
search the "Windows Catalog" (which I did several times, even for something
as basic as Microsoft Word, and was unsuccessful) or download and run
"Upgrade Advisor". This isn't an option for me because I have a dial-up
connection and it would take forever to download the 50 MB advisor.
