Yes It is a conflict with auto protection Antivirus
software McAfee,Norton and EZTrust Antivirus MS is working
on the problem

I have same problem with 811493 but don't have any of those. We are using
Sophos Antivirus.
Here is my post in winxp.general
"Yesterday I installed updates 811493 and Q817287. And from then there is
significant time out when I start any program and it come out on the
desktop. Since then it was almost instantly.
Version WinXP Pro 5.1.2600 SP1 Build 2600
Total Physical Memory 1.024,00 MB
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~2266 Mhz
What can I do to speed up application start?"

Well, I'm happy that I don't have to reinstall XP but only update.
