View Full Version : Accessing My Docs from another Windows Installation

I have had a problem with my main installation of windows
and have had to install it again, not wanting to loose my
documents from the original installation i have insalled
it to another hard drive, now i am unalbe to access my
documents from the original installation, is this possable
at all?

You should be able to set the "ownership" of the files so you can access
them via: right click --> properties --> security --> advanced --> owner
You may need to be running in safe mode for this to work in XP Home.

Then turn off simple file sharing... from an explorer window click tools /
folder options / "view" tab, and it's at the bottom of the list.
