How do I make the backgroud of the visible text( below my
icons on the Desktop) transparent?
I went to PROPERTIES---->APPEARANCE----->EFFECTS and
ADAVANCED and I couldn't find an option to make the desired
effect happen.
Can anyone help me with this?
Sorry, but I'm cross posting this to 3 groups (IF I CAN.)

Hi Brett,

Start/Control Panel/System/Advanced/Performance/Settings/ Visual
Effects/"Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"

Also:

Right click the desktop and select Arrange Icons by. Towards the bottom of
that list, uncheck "Lock web items on the desktop."

Transparent text under icons:

Right click the icon in question, choose Rename, hold down the ALT key and
type 0160 from the keypad.
