Hello all,

Our company recently ordered eight identical Dell GX270 PCs (hardware
exactly the same). We have created an image with Windows XP SP1a for
this PC and I'm wondering if sysprep needs to be run. What if the
image is put on each succeeding PC and the machine name is changed
locally (workgroup) before it is added to the domain ? I have used
sysprep with Win 2000, but the version of sysprep for Win XP seems to
have more options.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to all -

Yes you must use Sysprep to change the SID's on each pc.
