Hi, Sometimes a file infected with a virus will be detected by norton
antivirus but it says it is unable to repair the file, and that I
should delete it. When I try to delete, i get errors like the file is
write protected. I check the attributes, but it doesn't show that it
is read only or protected. even booting to dos, and going in that way
won't let me delete these files. Is there some easy way to delete
files that don't want to be deleted ?? A utility perhaps ? Any
insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pete:
Where is the file?
If it is in System Volume Information, it is part of System Restore
files.
In that case turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes all Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore.
