Working with Macafee Security. Getting a message that
says CPU serial number is disabled. The "Switch" to turn
this number off and on is located in the computer BIOS.
Would like to know how to access and "Flip" this switch.
CPU Celeron. Operating system XP

The CPU Serial Number only worked on the Pentium III. It was
disabled in the later chips because of customer privacy concerns.
It is usually located under Advanced BIOS Features with Award BIOS
sets. I do not know where it would be for AMI BIOS sets.

here is a 'bios list site' to help you - just
follow list to your 'bios mfr' as it's very
complete - and take it fr there - ie
