My pc just starting crashing and I get this message:

STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.

This started a few days ago and I have deleted that
partition and even done a fresh install and getting this
error again.

Suggestions anyone...what might be causing this?

I have an 80 gig western digital hard drive partitioned
into a 5 gig for OS and then 75 gigs for other things.
Plus, I have a western digital 200 gig and a maxtor 160
gig drive.

If you did a clean install (formatted the drive) and you are still
getting errors, your hardware is probably failing. Test all hard drives
with utilities from their respective mftrs. Test RAM with Memtest86
(www.memtest86.com).
