XP Pro login problem

We can't logon to this particular PC. We have several
users setup on it. The passwords for all users work ok,
the user's wallpaper shows up and Windows says it's
restoring user settings, then it says "Saving user
settings" and logs off!!! We never get to see the
task bar or the actual desktop, and CTRL-ALT-Delete won't
respond to give us the task manager. I've tried all the
safe mode reboots. Any suggestions?
