Operating System: Windows XP
Error message: Cannot Move 123: Access is denied
Make Sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that
the file is not in use.
Problem Description
In an attempt to test whether or not my network was
working properly: From my Computer Administrator Profile
Main Workstation, I placed a file into my Shared Documents
Folder to see if I was able to view the file from a remote
station (another computer on the network). This worked
just fine. I then went back to my Workstation to continue
setting up aspects of the network, though, before moving
forward, I unchecked the file sharing capabilities of the
Shared Documents Folder to protect its contents (the
folder was then not shared to network)- this, because my
network is run through a Wireless Router with an internet
connection. All help documentation provided by the
Manufacturer suggests that with a network of this type, it
is best to sign onto the internet from a XP user profile
setup with "Limited Access" to your computers system
files, as well as any other files one needs to remain
safe. I am now unable to remove the file I placed in the
Shared Documents Folder to test my network. I recieve the
above error message. Additionally, I am unable to save to
any of this folders files as I am informed that they are
under some sort of write protection.
I have attempted to change to properties of both the
Shared Documents Folder, unchecking the write protect
option to rectiffy this matter. I again, recieve the above
error message - for both folders. I have also simply
attempted rebooting. Nothing seems to affect my inability
to access the Shared Documents Folder other than to view.
Any Clues?
